The Charities

The three charities, Cancer Research UK, (registered charity no. 1089464) Cancer Bacup (registered charity no. 1019719) and the North Staffs Chemotherapy Unit (registered charity no. 1054889) have been chosen because of their help and support they have given me since I was diagnosed with Hogkins Disease.

"Cancer" is a scary word and at twenty-three you do not expect to associate the word with yourself. Cancer Bacup try to take the fear out of the disease by providing support, information and counselling for all those affected. Now I have started treatment, it seems natural to want to give something to help the overcrowded, but enormously friendly, chemotherapy unit to try and make the experience for others that little bit easier.

Cancer Research UK hardly needs introducing but I have always felt that the majority of the money raised should go towards research. Cancer makes the headlines everyday as more is learnt about its causes and better ways of curing it, but there is still a lot of work to be done before a more complete knowledge is formed. With your help the money raised will help to take some of the pain and trauma out of the disease.
